Social Events

Through the year the Shed organises a number of social events including talk and fish and chip supper evenings at the Cowplain Activity Centre.

BBQ on the First Friday of every month at 12:00 - All welcome, it's a good time for non-members to visit the shed to see if you would like to join. This is funded by your membership and is a chance to meet other 'Shedders' in a social gathering.

The two annual events are the summer family BBQ and Christmas Lunch.

This year's family BBQ will take place 14th September 2025 at Anders Hall grounds Jubilee Park Waterlooville PO7 7EF 1200 onwards.

1. Members + One at WMS expense. Any extra guests £5:00 per head.

2. Tables and chairs will be provided with access to car parking via Milton Road.

3. Bring your own liquid refreshments, but BBQ food will be provided.

4. Please place your name on list with the number of your group attending for catering purposes.

5. See you there! Loud shirts are permitted !!!

The last social event of 2025 will be the Christmas Lunch, 12th December 2025. A list for those wishing to attend will be displayed later in the year. A couple of notes:-

a. Venue: Cowplain Activity Centre, Date 12th December 2025, Time 1200 for 1230

b. Christmas Lunch financial arrangements. It was agreed at the 2024 AGM that for future lunches the membership criteria for WMS funded lunch would be those who are fully paid up members as at 1st October of each year plus partners. There will be a leeway to pay membership fees for this year only as an exception rather than the rule, so the final closing date will be end of October for this year only. Those members paying any later and new members joining would still be able to attend but at their own cost for them and their partners.

c. We will be holding a raffle again this year. Any prize donations will be gratefully received and a receptacle will be placed in the galley to receive them.

The twice a year, talk and fish and chip supper will take place at Cowplain Activity Centre on Friday 26th September 1800 for 1830. Please place your name and meal requirements on the list in the galley and submit monies in a labeled envelope with your name, meal requirements in the black safe. The speaker will be Dave Allport, the WMS Secretary and the subject will be chosen by placing your talk number choice on the attendance list.

We are happy to organise any occasion or trip members feel may be of interest to others.
