The programme revealed that 39% of Sheds believe that they had or may have prevented a life being lost to suicide. 25% Shed leaders responded with YES and 14% with MAYBE. A recent survey of 133 Shedders reported “ As a result of their involvement in their Men’s Shed 76% of shedders say their physical health has improved and 79% of shedders say their mental health has improved.

3. On Friday 22nd March members met at the Cowplain Activity Centre for a fish and chip supper accompanied by another talk from Dave Allport. This time the topic was ‘The Battle of Trafalgar’. I think everyone enjoyed the evening, hearing about this epic sea battle and the final moments of Admiral Nelson. A big thank you must go to Paul Turner for organising the evening. There will be another similar event in the autumn.

4. The final episode of the mangle restoration. Pete Sanders has spent much time on this relic of the past and now it sits in it’s full glory. A very nice artefact from a distant past. Nice one Pete!

5. In case you are not aware or are a new member, our website contains much information and the monthly Newsletters are published along with photos of the day-to-day activities of the Shed. Our official documentation and notices are also available should you require them. I update the website on a regular basis.
